Bama vs. Vandy (Homecoming!)

This weekend was homecoming weekend here in Tuscaloosa, and boy was it busy!

Alex came into town, as usual, on Friday evening.  It had been two weeks since I had seen him, and as silly as this sounds, those two weeks have seemed like a lifetime!  Anyway, we soaked up the little “alone” time we had before heading to Nick’s (yes, Alex’s favorite) to meet a friend for dinner.  We got home about 10:30, just in time for my cousin, who was visiting for the weekend, to arrive.  We all sat up and talked for a while, but it wasn’t too long before both of the boys were out like a light.  I decided to call it a day too and get some rest before my busy Saturday!

Saturday morning, we got up, and decided to go grab some breakfast at Jack’s (since I’m a terrible hostess and did not buy any breakfast stuff for the weekend…oops!)  After waiting on it for at least 20 minutes, them messing up our order and having to go back, only for them to mess it up again, we finally got to eat breakfast around 11.  By then, it was time for me to get ready and head to work!

I don’t have a clue as to what everyone else did, but being Homecoming and playing an SEC team, recruiting was crazy!  We’ve started something new at halftime too and it was my turn to work, so when we wrapped up pre-game stuff half way into the second quarter, I knew it was not worth going to my seats and I ended up staying in the recruiting room until after the half.  Although they had the game on, I don’t have a clue what went on…I checked on the score occasionally to know that we were winning and that was good enough for me.

Finally, I got join my family about half way into the 3rd quarter.  It was so nice to sit down!  I managed to get a couple of pictures, but I was so tired, pictures seemed to be too much of a hassle ;)

Anyway, it was a wonderful weekend!  We’ve got an away game next weekend so I’m excited to get some time to recover!

How was your weekend?

Not Me Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

I’ll start…

I most certainly did not cry on Alex AT LEAST three times last week over completely ridiculous things (like wanting to set a price limit for gifts in the future).  I would never put him in that position, especially over something so silly.  Nope, not me!

I also did not put on a black dress Saturday morning, and then change, minutes before leaving because I was afraid I looked like a fan of the opposing team.  That wouldn’t happen, because I never wait until the last minute to choose my game day outfit, and certainly do not change my mind at the last minute.  Nope, not me!

Finally, I definitely did not buy yet another bottle of coffee creamer last night at the grocery.  I would never do that because I already had three other flavors already in my fridge at home.  Not me!

So what did you not do this past week?

Things I Love Thursday

It has been a rough week for me, however, I feel that it is more beneficial for me to focus on the positive so I can hopefully get out of this rut. :)

Anyway, here are my faves for this week:

  1. The dropping temperatures

Although it is still 80 something degrees during the day, it has been around 50-something at night and has been wonderful!  Hopefully day time temperatures will drop soon.

2.  Belted Coats

I’ve always been a fan of pea coats, but the past few years I’ve been obsessed with belted coats :)  I think it is because I have a long body and short legs, but whatever it is, they look better on me :)

I had a gray one and a red one already, that I love, but I recently added this pretty crimson one (ok, it is really called winterberry, but it is crimson in my book ;))

and then I got this trench from New York and Company in Tan and Black

I’m in love with them all and can’t wait for it to get colder, so that I can actually enjoy them :)

3.  Extra Dessert Delights Gum

Source

I know these have been around for a while, but I just recently discovered them and I’m in love!  As someone who has to have something sweet after every meal, these are PERFECT because they actually taste like the dessert without all of the guilt.  Anyway, I’ve tried the Apple Pie a la mode, Mint Chocolate Chip, and the Strawberry Shortcake and the Apple Pie is definitely my favorite.  Be sure to try them out…I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

So that’s, my list for the week!! What are you loving this week?
