Today was very eventful so let me start from the beginning. Last night, after dozing off, my roommate finally came in. Her name is Toya (I think). She’s very sweet and friendly. She’s about 6 foot tall basketball and volleyball player from Hueytown. Her beau is trying to start his own record label. We talked until after 1. Oh, and she’s a nursing major.
On to today….After waking up every few minutes, 6:00 finally rolled around. After climbing carefully down from my perch, I tackled the dreaded shower. It was the most miserable thing I’ve ever been through. I wore my flip flops and had to take my little pink caddy in the shower with me. I had to sit it in the floor because there’s not a little seat or anything. I took a really quick shower (big surprise huh) but I haven’t felt very clean today. I’ve got to attempt to wash my hair in the morning so that should be interesting.
After I got ready, Mom called to make sure I was up. She told me that Tim called from D.C. and left a message on the answering machine. I miss him so much and out of all the guys I’ve seen, I wouldn’t trade him for anything. Hopefully I’ll hear from him when I get home. Anyway, after I talked to Mom I got online and talked to Mrs. Davis. She told me that Matt did end up going to Mexico. By the time I finished ranting to Mommy Davis, it was time to head to the Ferg to begin my busy day.
After I received my packet of info, I went over to the seating area to wait to go to into the theatre for our welcome. I was so busy thumbing through the novellas of information they gave us, that I didn’t even notice Regan Sandlin walking up. Boy, was it great to see a familiar face. We had to go to a cheesy pep rally type welcome where the Avanti’s sang “Yea Alabama” while carrying shakers and the flag followed by a horrible 80’s dance medly that was written especially for us. The rest of the day we went to lecture after lecture after lecture. My Avanti leaders were great though! One’s name was Laura and the guy’s name was Abe. Oh, I forgot to mention, I ran into Kirk Goodwin and his mom Connie Burleson. I hung out with them most of the day after Regan abandoned me. It was fun for the most part…we had Chik-fil-a for lunch in the Ferg and had cappucinos at Starbucks. It was great! On the way to the last Avanti meeting of the day, it poured so I got soaked. We had subs in the Ferg for dinner. Oh, we took our Math placement test as well. I made a 404 which is not too shabby. I don’t have to start in the “catch up” Maths. We had ice cream in the lobby of Blount. I’m just ready to get home and take a shower in my own bathroom and sleep in my own bed. Tomorrow we’re choosing classes so I hope I get a decent schedule…doubt it, but I’ll still hope. It’s pretty late…like I am laying in bed writing this and listening to Dave and Matchbox Twenty. Guys have actually been hitting on me, but I have yet to find one that even competes with Timothy. I’ve already taken some of my stuff to the car so I can head to the Ferg ASAP in the morning. I miss Tim so much! It will probably be worse when I get home because I’ll see all his pictures. I can’t wait until he gets home. I haven’t cried yet…came close though. I really need a hug from him right now. I hope he’s having fun and I hope he hasn’t met a girl. Just a few more days and he’ll be home. I’m ready to be home too. Tim didn’t call tonight as far as we know. Brad called today though which made me feel really good…it brightened my rainy day as always. Bryan of course has been checking on me as well. I have a feeling phone bills will be going up big time when I move down here to T-town. Oh well, tomorrow’s another day. My roomie just came in so I’m going to turn in tonight so I won’t be so tired to drive home. Good night!
