Josh's Winter Formal

My brother went to his first formal this past weekend. Because we are so far apart in age, we go through our ups and downs in our closeness. Over the past few years, we've gotten much closer but I've also become extremely "mom-like" especially with stuff like this. I always made fun of my mom for being a photo nazi, but I found myself snapping just as many pictures (I'm becoming more and more like her which is scary! ;)) We took lots of pictures of just Josh at home and then he met his date at a super fancy house in Hartselle to have some more pictures made (and we made a ton because the house was gorgeous!) Then they headed to dinner and we went home to get ready and head to Huntsville to watch leadouts at the actual formal. They made such a cute couple! After leadouts, all of the parents of the group (the one that got together to ride in the limo) took the limo to Outback for dinner. Let me preface my next statement by saying, Alex and I LOVE Outback and we go there quite often for dinner. Needless to say, I didn't think twice about going here. I was in the mood for a steak so I ordered my usual and started eating it and it was horrible! They put way too much rub on it and you could hardly taste the steak. About half way through the meal, I started feeling yucky. I went to the restroom and was fine so I came back. Then about the time we were leaving, I had that horribly sick feeling yet again. I went back to the bathroom before we left and even though I still didn't feel good, I thought "okay, I can make it back to the civic center" Boy, was I wrong. We just pulled into the parking lot and I started feeling sick again....it was definitely one of those break out in a sweat, panicky sick feelings. We had the limo driver stop so I could go ahead and get out and I sprinted, high heels and all to the bathroom. Unfortunately while everyone else enjoyed the formal I was holed up in a bathroom stall, sick as a dog with what had to be food poisoning (and I HATE public restrooms...I'm a complete germophobe so for me to even be in there was saying a lot!). Because we had a 45 minute drive home, I was hesitant to leave but I finally calmed down enough to try and go home. Thankfully I made it home but as soon as I got home, I was sick for the remainder of the night and most of yesterday Besides the sickness, all went well. Josh looked handsome in his tux, he had a good time, and I had a good time as well....at least for most of the time. I would love to post all of the pictures on here, but I don't have the space so check them out here. Enjoy!!!

Welcome 2008!!

Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe night last night ringing in the New Year. This is the first year Alex and I were not able to spend New Year's together since we began dating :( He had to go back to Tuscaloosa to move stuff into his new apartment and couldn't make it back in time so he went to visit some friends in Birmingham and I just stayed at home and spent time with the family. I was pretty sad, but I did get a sweet phone call from Alex at midnight so that made it much better! Hopefully 2008 will bring some great and wonderful times!
