As soon as I found out my best friend was getting married, I immediately started mentally planning showers for her. Unfortunately, or fortunately, her other BM were doing the same thing so she had about every shower she needed!
Her childhood best friend, Megan, who lived in Auburn at the time, called me and asked if I minded helping her throw a lingerie shower/bachelorette dinner for Casey in Tuscaloosa. Of course I didn’t mind!
She dealt with the logistics, and I did the decorating. Many e-mails went back and forth between us (which was quite entertaining because we had NEVER met, but had heard about each other so much via Casey we felt like we did!) and I think we did well just planning via e-mail. I think a lot of it had to do with being teachers, but who knows? ;)
Anyway, Casey requested that she open her presents somewhere a little more secluded than a restaurant, so we chose to do the “Lingerie Shower” portion at my apartment after dinner. I used the invitation that Megan sent out, and got busy.
I was pretty proud of how it turned out!
The set-up (without the chocolate and punch…its coming!)
Ready for the bride!
The adorable “panty cookies” my co-host made!
The food table. being the perfectionist that I am, I had drew, cut-out, and assembled the “Ooh La La” banner because I couldn’t find anything that matched. Can we say OCD? ;)
I have a little obsession with Subway Art, so I created a personalized version for the Bride and Groom to serve as the centerpiece
The favors: Vanilla Scented Candles in cute damask tins
The beverage and chocolate fountain table. I am still kicking myself for not getting this wire dress form I considered for this table :(
Chocolate fountain. What? Everyone doesn’t own a chocolate fountain (or two ;))? If not, you should. Totally an entertaining staple!
My own made-up “Blushing Bride” punch recipe :) Pink champagne, frozen strawberries, and Welch’s Berry punch. Don’t ask me measurements, it was totally trial and error!
Dippers for the chocolate: Pretzels, Strawberries, Marshmallows, and Pound Cake
The beautiful bride-to-be! Isn’t she adorable?
The bride-to-be and myself. It was late, and I was sick so I look rough. Just focus on how cute she is :)
The loot
Casey with the invitation…I think I did a pretty good job matching it :)
Casey got lots of fun lingerie, but I will keep those pictures for her and her groom. I had to share my gift though: a leopard babydoll. Her response: “Of course Maegan would match her gift to the party theme”. This is why we are friends ;)
Overall we had a FANTASTIC night! The bridesmaids got to play some fun games, socialize, and celebrate our friend getting married! :)
